Gilding was taught by Alain Coutret then by Rafël Tarifa.
I also took gilding courses at the ADAC, Paris Ateliers , from Jean-Pierre Rousseau.
I obtain a CAP "Art de la reliure et de la dorure"(an apprenticeship certificat in bookbinding and gilding) in 2006, after three years of studies.
During those apprenticeship years, I discovered a fascinating profession.
Then I worked for few monthes in a common bindery, after which I set up my own company (in 2009).
I took part in different bookbinding competitions in France :
- Foire internationale aux livres d'exception (book fair) : in 2007, organised by the Albi multimedia library
Project of a bookbinding for the playUbu Roi by Alfred Jarry. Full calfskin with incisions made with India ink. - Bookbinding prize of Orléans (2007)
Winner of the 3rd prize, with agate inlaid in the bookbinding of the Georges Bataille novel, Le Bleu du ciel. - Foire internationale aux livres d'exception (book fair) : in 2009, organised by the Albi multimedia library
Creation of a book calledBestiaire (text by Gaël Fortier, illustrated by myself). Drawings realised with nib and India ink; stencil made withe casein paint; simplified binding with visible sewing. - Bookbinding prize of Orléans (2009)
